"You are not alone."
Most of us have felt depressed at some point in our lives whether it be an extreme depression or in smaller ways that still affect your life.
It may sound cliché but one of the most important things you can do for yourself during these times is remember that you are not alone.
There will always be someone who cares about you whether it's family, a friend, or a complete stranger; they're out there.
"Human Beings want to help you."
Along the lines of remembering you're not alone, know that there are people in the world who want to help you. It's important to share what you're going through. You'll be amazed at how much better you'll feel when you talk to someone about how you're feeling. Make sure the person you choose is trustworthy and compassionate. Accidentally choosing someone who doesn't have your best interest at heart can give opposite results to what we're looking for.
But what can you do right now to help yourself out?
The first of our ten tips to kick depression is to get into a routine. You don't have to plan out every single day but creating a morning routine that you follow more often than not can really help keep you moving and pull you out of the depression.
"Our world was created for love, connection, and belonging. It was not created for depression, drug overdose, and suicide."
Our second tip is to set obtainable goals. Setting goals can give your life visible meaning when you feel like you have none (which is totally not true, but we've all been there!). It's important to keep these goals realistic so you are able to achieve them. Making too lofty of goals will only back fire when you aren't able to reach them. It's better to make a bunch of small goals that will all amount to a much larger goal.
